Approaches to engaging men in support of women's leadership in the Pacific

Published by DFAT's Australia Awards Women Leading and Influencing (WLI) program and co-authored by La Trobe University's Institute for Human Security and Social Change with Pacific experts, this report reviews literature and interviews to identify effective approaches for engaging men in support of women's leadership in the Pacific. It finds men's support is critical given the power they often hold, and highlights that active, participatory approaches building men's knowledge, empathy and allyship skills are most effective, while cautioning against approaches that reinforce gender stereotypes.
