CARE flagship report: Women at the last mile

Published by CARE, this flagship report examines how investments in gender equality helped keep health systems running during COVID-19, finding that women make up 70 per cent of the global health workforce but perform half of that work unpaid. It argues that pandemic preparedness requires equal recognition, support and fair pay for all health workers, showing that pre-existing investments in gender equality strengthened health system responses to COVID-19.
