Climate resilience and disability inclusion: mapping and rapid evidence review

This Disability Inclusion Helpdesk report examines the links between climate change and disability, and reviews the evidence on interventions that strengthen the climate resilience of people with disabilities. It also considers how climate resilience programmes can be made more effective at including people with disabilities.

The review finds that most climate resilience programmes seeking to include people with disabilities take a mainstreaming approach rather than including disability-specific components, and that evidence on what actually works to strengthen the climate resilience of people with disabilities remains limited. It warns that people with disabilities may be falling through the gaps in climate resilience programming, and offers recommendations on how programmes can be made more disability-inclusive in design, delivery and monitoring.
