Conflict, gender and social inclusion mainstreaming: a guide
This short guide explains how to mainstream gender equality and social inclusion into programming in conflict-affected settings. It was produced by the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn, a governance programme working with federal and state government in Nigeria.
The guide introduces the gender equality and social inclusion spectrum, which classifies programmes as gender exploitative, gender neutral, gender sensitive or gender transformative, and gives practical prompts for assessing where a programme sits and how to move it along that spectrum. It is intended as a quick reference for programme staff and partners applying a conflict-sensitive lens to inclusion work.
