Resource pack: conversations on gender and tax

This resource pack explains how tax policy, administration and research can promote women's equality and empowerment by being gender aware. It was produced through the Knowledge, Evidence and Learning for Development programme's learning journey on tax and gender.

The pack highlights the role civil society organisations play in advocating for gender-sensitive taxation, including educating women taxpayers about how taxation and gender intersect, working with governments to build gender considerations into tax policy, and monitoring whether the services funded by taxation are provided equitably. It notes that specialised civil society organisations can also conduct gender-specific analysis of taxation and budget allocations, deepening understanding of how tax policies affect people differently.
