Disability and climate resilience research report
This report presents the results of a 14-month exploratory research project on the links between disability and climate resilience, carried out in Kenya and Bangladesh. It addresses two questions: what the relationship is between disability and an individual's vulnerability or resilience to climate shocks and stresses, and how interventions can build the resilience of people with disabilities to those shocks and stresses.
The report sets out the research findings and their implications for policy and programme work, covering how disability intersects with poverty, livelihoods, access to information and early warning, social protection and the physical accessibility of shelter and services. It was produced by the Leonard Cheshire Disability and Inclusive Development Centre at University College London with funding from the UK Department for International Development.
