Ending violence against LGBTQI+ people: global evidence and emerging insights into what works

This report summarises the global evidence on violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people, and sets out emerging insights into what works to prevent it. It is based on a global evidence review examining both the nature and prevalence of this violence and the practices that show promise in preventing violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics.

The report covers the forms this violence takes, including within families, in schools and workplaces, in public space and at the hands of state actors, and the drivers that sustain it. It identifies promising prevention approaches and the substantial gaps in the evidence base, and draws out implications for donors, programme designers and researchers working on violence prevention.
