What difference are feminist foreign policies making to ending violence against women and girls?
This policy brief examines what feminist foreign policies, feminist development policies and international gender strategies are doing about violence against women and girls. It summarises the commitments on violence contained in a selection of those policies and strategies, and considers what those commitments mean in practice for prevention and response work.
The brief identifies what is missing from existing policies and from their implementation, including gaps between stated ambition and the funding and accountability mechanisms that would deliver it. It closes with recommendations for donors and policy makers on strengthening the violence prevention content of feminist foreign and development policy.
