Gender equality and social inclusion scan: concept note

A gender equality and social inclusion scan is a tool and a process, based on a participatory methodology, to promote organisational learning and practical ways to mainstream gender and inclusion. This concept note explains what the scan is for and how to run one.

It sets out three cross-cutting objectives: to mainstream gender equality and social inclusion within the programme's organisations and institutions, looking inward; to mainstream it within the programme's work, looking outward; and to create an environment for partners to facilitate transformative approaches, looking forward. The note contains guidance and a set of tools, including survey and interview guides, that can be adapted to complete a scan.
