Produced by DRR Dynamics as part of a series on intersectionality and disaster risk reduction, this report examines how cultural identity and traditional knowledge shape community preparedness and response to disasters. Using case studies including the Maori community in New Zealand and the Aymara people in Bolivia, it shows how cultural practices can strengthen resilience and offers recommendations for incorporating cultural and identity considerations into disaster risk reduction strategies.
