Sexual and gender minorities face violence, discrimination and marginalisation in everyday life, leaving them particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and facing distinct barriers in water, sanitation and hygiene.

Drawing on work undertaken across the DFAT-funded Water for Women Fund, this learning brief highlights transformative and strengths-based approaches to including sexual and gender minorities in WASH and climate resilience work. It is designed to help WASH practitioners improve inclusion of people from sexual and gender minority groups and, in doing so, strengthen resilience for whole communities.
