Pacific Women Lead Guidance Note 1: reporting on disability inclusion

This Pacific Women Lead guidance note supports partners to report meaningfully on disability inclusion. The World Health Organization estimates that 16 per cent of any population experiences disability — approximately 1.7 million people in the Pacific — and many face barriers to essential services including WASH, health and education.

The note sets out the regional policy context, including the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ratified by 14 of 15 Pacific Island countries, the 2016–2025 Pacific Framework on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, and provides practical guidance on what and how to report.
