Produced by the DFAT-funded Water for Women Fund, this guidance supports WASH program managers and technical advisers to implement approaches that shift the social norms underpinning harmful WASH behaviours for marginalised and vulnerable groups.

It provides checklists and guiding questions to help teams focus outcomes on norm-driven behaviours, assess opportunities to include a social norms focus in WASH programs, plan new interventions, and consider how to scale existing initiatives out, up and deep. It is accompanied by a review of concepts, literature and practice.
