Technology-facilitated gender-based violence: preliminary landscape analysis
This analysis sets out the evidence base on technology-facilitated gender-based violence, assesses where the gaps in that evidence lie, and identifies emerging research priorities. It also covers the methodological and ethical challenges involved in accessing and collecting data on this form of violence.
The analysis focuses on technology-facilitated gender-based violence against women and girls in all their diversity, applying an intersectional gender lens to the disproportionate impacts on women and girls, including lesbian, bisexual, queer and trans women. Alongside the different and evolving forms this violence takes, it examines global and regional prevalence, who is disproportionately affected, risk and protective factors, societal and individual impacts, access to justice, perpetrator profiles and behaviours, and the role of online service providers.
