Transformative change for global biodiversity: the role of gender equality and social inclusion

This rapid evidence review provides a series of background notes informing the Wilton Park conference on transformative change for global biodiversity and the role of gender equality and social inclusion. It introduces some of the lessons, barriers and entry points for action, and the themes and issues bound up in ensuring that women, girls, Indigenous Peoples and local communities and marginalised groups are at the heart of efforts to tackle the global biodiversity crisis.

The notes are organised by conference session, covering why biodiversity is a critical issue, learning from inclusive and transformative biodiversity action, the barriers to achieving inclusive and transformative action, championing the implementation of Targets 22 and 23 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and inclusive biodiversity finance for transformative change. It was produced through the UK's Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy helpdesk.
